Healthier Habits in 2020
Did anyone catch my Nashville NewsChannel5 Talk of the Town segment, Healthier Habits, earlier this week? I want to share with all my sidekicks the tips and ideas I shared, plus the recipes I talked about.

First of all, hydration is so important! Make sure you are carrying a large water with you all day. I've noticed how much more I drink when I always have a water in my hand. Also, switch out your oils in your kitchen, like Vegetable and Canola, for healthier oils like Avocado or Coconut oil. Use them the same way you would use the others, but with zero guilt!
Need a mid-day pick-me-up that doesn't blow your diet? Have a coffee. Limit the sweeteners, but a coffee will fill you up and curb those cravings.
For some go-to snacks that will leave you feeling more full, try apple slices with yogurt and nuts, coconut or chocolate chips, or a protein shake with leftover coffee, water, ice, milk, and chocolate protein. Also, everyone in my family is loving these energy bites I shared. Check out the recipe below.
No-Bake Energy Bites:
2 Cups Oats
2/3 cup Honey
1 cup Peanut Butter
1 cup Chocolate Chips
2/3 cup Coconut flakes
1 cup Flaxseed
Mix ingredients. Spoon into balls on wax paper. Let harden.
We love these and they are so easy to make.
For quick on-the-go meals, we use these tortillas for wraps all the time. Spread hummus and turkey and cheese, or go sweet with peanut butter and apple slices. We love these- even eating in the car.

For easy exercise, when you are busy and life seems so crazy, especially in the winter, I leave my weights in a basket in the bedroom and when the kids (finally) go to sleep, my husband starts up Netflix and I spend 20 minutes with my handweights while I'm still spending time with him and we are watching our shows. I hope this gives you some ideas and I hope to share more recipes and workout ideas with you all soon! Until Next Time...
